Meet Cute — Why Your Parents' Love Story Deserves to Be Remembered Forever

Every family has a version of the story — how the parents met. Maybe it's been told so many times it's practically a script. But I've noticed something interesting while filming legacy videos: even the most well-worn family story reveals something new when it's told on camera, in detail, for the first time in years.
Ask a couple how they met, and you'll usually get the short version first — the one they've told at every dinner party for forty years. But push a little further, ask about the nerves, the almost-didn't-happen moment, what they were wearing, what song was playing — and something shifts. You start hearing the real story, not the anecdote.
This is one of the most requested segments in the family documentaries we produce, and for good reason: it's often the story grandchildren have heard fragments of but never in full, with real emotional detail. It's also one of the stories most likely to be lost entirely if it isn't recorded while both people are still around to tell it together.
A few questions worth asking, on camera, while you still can:
What was your very first impression of each other?
Was there a moment either of you almost walked away?
What do you remember about the day you knew it was serious?
